The City of Gainesville will hold a special election Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, to address the following vacancies: Gainesville City Council, Ward 2 seat; and Gainesville City Board of Education, District 2 seat. All municipal elections are nonpartisan. They are conducted in accordance with the Constitution of the State of Georgia , Georgia Election Code, City Charter and the City Code of Ordinances. Election services are provided by the Hall County Board of Elections & Registration, and Hall County Board of Registrar's Office via an intergovernmental agreement.

Important notice

This special election will be held in conjunction with the Municipal General Election to address the Mayor of Gainesville seat; Gainesville City Council, wards 1 and 4 seats; and Gainesville City Board of Education, districts 1 and 4 seats. Learn more here
