Final Decision: Denied 4-0, Board of Commissioners (David Gibbs did not vote.)

Purpose of Hearing: Request of Special Use for an agri-entertainment venue and an equestrian center.

Result of first hearing: The Planning Commission heard opposition from 7 current and former residents of Lawson Road. The residents objected to additional traffic, noise, safety and a variance for the venue location's distance from the property line. The Planning Commission approved the variance with a vote of 3-1. (Shannon Davidson voted in opposition. Johnny Varner was not in attendance.) Additional conditions were added which restricted the venue to 6 weddings and 2 birthday parties per year, all on a Saturday from 11 am - 4 pm. This decision will be forwarded to the Board of Commissioners to be voted on at their July 10th meeting.
