Commissioners Meeting 2

General Public Comments

The Public Hearing to amend Hall County's Zoning Map will be held later in the agenda, and will be specific to each property listed. However, public comments on any other agenda items will be accepted immediately following the Pledge of Allegiance. Anyone wishing to speak about "non-zoning" items on the agenda must sign the speaker list at the door upon entering the meeting room. A maximum of twenty (20) minutes is allowed during the general public comments, with each speaker addressing the Board for a maximum of 2 minutes. Each person will be called to the podium in the order of the signatures on the speaker list. A speaker must be prepared to provide his or her name and address before making comments.

Public Hearing to Amend Hall County's Zoning Map (Public Comments on Properties)

A representative from the Hall County Government Law Department will conduct the public hearing. The lawyer will read the synopsis given for each property, then the Director of Planning and Zoning will review the request and the resulting decision from the Planning Commission.

Twenty (20) minutes will be allowed for those who wish to speak in favor of the request, including the applicant. The lawyer will first ask if the applicant is present to speak to the item. (Most applicants speak briefly, then reserve any remaining time for rebuttal). Next, the lawyer will ask if there is anyone who would like to speak in favor of the item.

When there are no additional speakers or the 20 minutes has expired, the lawyer will ask if there is anyone who wishes to speak against the item. A new 20 minute timer begins. Those voicing objections to the item will be allowed to address the Board. At the conclusion, the applicant is allowed to respond to the Board with clarification and/or rebuttal, as long as the original 20 minutes has not expired. At this point, the public hearing is concluded and the item is taken up by the Board.

Hall County Board of Commissioners Work Session

The Hall County Board of Commissioners Work Session will be called to order at 3:00 p.m. Pubic Comments are welcome at the end of the Work Session, however, no comments regarding zoning or ordinance changes will be allowed. Each speaker must sign the speaker list at the door prior to the session and will be granted 2 minutes, with a maximum of 20 minutes allotted for public comments.
